When Professional Counseling is Needed

Sometimes professional counseling is needed in addition to or instead of Spiritual Direction and Prayer Ministry. For example, if a psychological assessment, mental health diagnosis, or professional treatment plan is needed, I will refer to appropriate mental health services — typically a professional counselor, doctor, or psychiatrist.

Complications such as suicidality, Major Depression, Character Disorders, mental health hospitalizations and/or complex medication management are some examples of when a referral to an MD or psychiatrist and/or professional counselor is needed.
